This is the last bit of news we want to hear today.
The Milwaukee-Wisconsin Journal Sentinel is now reporting
that a distress call at 10:26am came in to the Oak Creek Police Department - a town just outside of Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Apparently, a white man with two handguns attacked a service at the Sikh Temple of Wisconsin. It has been reported that between 20 and 30 people may be injured. Police have no other information to provide as squads advance on the religious center. It has also been stated that the gunman may still be on the loose or holding hostages inside.
UPDATE: One of the victims may have included
a police officer. Emergency medical helicopters and ambulances have rushed to the scene, as well as the Milwaukee County's Sheriff Department.
The Milwaukee-Wisconsin Journal Sentinel is also reporting that it received a text message from someone inside the service which stated that there were two gunmen as well as children hostages.
UPDATE: A reporter from the newspaper is live-tweeting from the site of the shooting. Follow her at @HerzogJS
A CNN affiliate
has told the organization that two people are wounded, one critically, and one person appears to be dead. One of the bodies was seen lying in the parking lot. More details to come.
UPDATE: One of the police spokesperson has told
reporters that at least one of the gunmen has been "put down." Aerial shots are also showing multiple bodies in the parking lot, according to CNN. Evacuated service-goers are stationed at a day care center nearby.
