Breaking: Subways Are Germy

If it's not people without pants on the subway making you sick, or rats crawling on people's faces on the subway making you sick, it's the subway itself making you sick. According to a new British study, if you ride public transit you're six times more likely to come down with an acute respiratory infection, yuck.

But if you only ride occasionally, you're even more likely to catch something, versus building up an immunity with regular rides -- which just goes to prove that we hardened New Yorkers stay healthy on our daily diets of toxins, breathable and otherwise.

Carry on, then, and try not to cough directly on anybody, or put your mouth (or whichever orifice) on the pole.
