Brooklyn Man Caught After Stabbing Spree; Egyptians Celebrate Mubarak's Resignation (Weekend Links)
- Morning! Good news: It will be a positively balmy high of 39 today.
- The Brooklyn man who stabbed his father to death yesterday has been caught this morning after killing his ex-girlfriend and her mother and stabbing two others. As the Post puts it, 23-year-old Maksim Gelman "resurfaced" 12 hours after killing his father to murder his ex-girlfriend Yelena Bulchenko, 20, and her mother Anna, 56. He then "resurfaced" again later to stab a livery cab driver and the driver of a Nissan Maxima in an attempt to steal their cars. Neither of those victims suffered fatal injuries. Gelman has 10 prior arrests, the most recent only from last week; his super describes him as a "street punk." [NYDN, NYP]
