Buying Drugs, the Extra-Stupid Way: A Primer
Up next in our servicey "What Not to Do with Marijuana" series -- a/k/a, how not to be stupid -- we have the valuable lesson of the kid in Montana who wanted to buy weed and, er, somehow managed to text his request to the local sheriff.
A helpful tip that goes for illicit and even many perfectly legit activities: Avoid putting anything in writing. If you must, please, double check the addressee. Because when a cop gets a text that says "Hey Dawg, do you have a $20 I can buy right now?" well, it's pretty much his lucky day, and he will act on it if he's even a little bit worth his gun belt.
The cop, predictably, arranged a meeting with his wannabe buyers, who were 15- and 16-year-old boys. Upon their bust,
According to the AP, "their faces turned white and their knees began to wobble. One of the boys even fainted."
Zero street cred. Even worse: The parents have been left in charge of punishing them, which means they'd probably rather be in jail right now.
Also: This is not the first time this has happened! A New Jersey man recently did the same thing, and was also busted.
Let's get those address books together, people, before people start spreading the rumor that pot makes you stupid. And if somebody's out there giving phony dealer numbers that are actually those of cops, well -- you need a hobby.
