Cheer Up, GOP: America Still Hates Gay People
The one bright spot for conservatives in last night's election was the victory of three anti-gay referenda and the probable victory of a fourth. Arizona's and Florida's definition of marriage as between one man and one woman passed, and Arkansas prohibited gay (and unmarried straight) couples from adopting children.
GLAAD called the results a "disappointment for our community's pursuit of fairness and equality," but cheered the arrival of "a president-elect whose commitment to inclusion has the potential to elevate and fundamentally redefine the national discussion about our community."
