Cooling Centers Open
As summer, after a long delay, has hit New York (a high of 92 is predicted today), the city has opened cooling centers where citizens without recourse to A/C may take some ease. You may find the one nearest you here. The cooling centers, many of which are located in senior centers, are normally activated during Excessive Heat Emergencies (EHEs), which we suppose this is; there is some concern with ground-level ozone, which is created by the combination of air pollution and extreme heat. The centers will be open tomorrow, too.
