Copters Buzz Manhattan, Will Keep it Up Through Friday
If you were troubled by low-flying helicopters this morning -- which we, as residents of an outer borough, would have presumed was just another police investigation if we had finished sleeping it off by then -- don't worry about it. And don't worry when it happens again tonight around 7, tomorrow morning, and tomorrow evening. It's for a movie. They'll be hovering around midtown, Wall Street, and the George Washington, Manhattan and Verrazano bridges.
The story is widely disseminated, presumably to head off minor outrages such as that engendered when choppers terrorized an unalerted Chelsea during a recent shoot of The Bounty.
Mayor's Office of Film, Theater and Broadcasting hasn't told us what movie is shooting, but all those helicopters can only mean one thing: Eric Rohmer's comin' back, baby!
