Cute Animal Fix: Meet the Bronx Zoo's New Baby Lemur

Cute Animal Fix: Meet the Bronx Zoo's New Baby Lemur
Julie Larsen Maher / WCS's Bronx Zoo

Today the Bronx Zoo welcomes baby lemur Ares, who is finally ready to come out and meet his adoring public following his birth in December.

Wee, adorable Ares is a type of lemur known as the Coquerel's sifaka which, like all lemurs, is native (and exclusive) to the island of Madagascar, where they are endangered due to habitat destruction.

Ares' birth brings the total population of Coquerel's sifakas in accredited zoos to 51. He's the second for the Bronx Zoo.

Watch Ares munch some greens, have a bath, and stare down the paparazzi like a pro.
