Daptone Records Robbed, Imperiling Rod Stewart Sessions
Daptone Records, the Bushwick analog recording mecca used by Amy Winehouse and the Dap-Kings, got robbed last night, reports Brooklyn Vegan. The haul is impressive: Fender amps, computers, turntables, phone and modem equipment, mics, turntables -- even their Baldwin organ was "tossed and is probably broken." They plead with friends to be on the lookout for their stuff, and also new stuff they can get cheap, as Rod Stewart is expected to record there on Friday. Photo (cc) lolololori.
