Debrahlee Lorenzana Trades Up: Gloria Allred Takes Her Case, Jack Tuckner Wishes Her the Best

RadarOnline has reported that former Citibanker Debrahlee Lorenzana has had a change of heart with regard to her legal consult Jack Tuckner, who arranged for all of those original office photos and stood behind her before the media shitstorm began. She's now hired Gloria Allred -- defender of Rachel Uchitel, fighter of sexual discrimination whatever the cost, even if it's wearing a medieval suit of armor in a lady-mag photo shoot -- to take over Lorenzana's case against Citibank (a/k/a make her a star).

From Allred's statement:

"Debrahlee Lorenzana has been unfairly and viciously attacked in the media for having the courage to step forward and take a stand against blatant sex discrimination and retaliation because she complained about the sex discrimination that she was forced to suffer. We feel very confident about her legal claims, and we have agreed to represent her because she deserves to be able to wage the most effective and vigorous legal battle possible."

Knowing what we do about Allred, who's currently repping not one but two Tiger mistresses, we feel very confident that the opportunities coming Debrahlee's way will soon be maximized in a most media-savvy fashion, regardless whether any "vigorous legal battles" actually ensue.

Lorenzana herself said in a statement yesterday:

"I retained Gloria Allred because I wanted the best person to represent me. Ms. Allred has been practicing law for 35 years. She and her law firm have won many victories for women in employment discrimination cases. I am thankful that she has accepted my case and has agreed to represent me."

Debrahlee's former attorney, labor rights and employment discrimination lawyer Jack Tuckner, told us, "We support her in her decision to retain other counsel and we wish her the best."

Meanwhile, the New York Post claims that this lawyer swap was done after (and because!) their writer Andrea Peyser "ripped into the beauty yesterday."

"I'm flattered that my words were sufficient to draw Gloria Allred, like a truffle-sniffing pig, out from California to represent this lady," Peyser said.

Now, whether or not Peyser is actually on the radar of anyone outside of her immediate media circle enough to actually get them to change lawyers remains one of those rhetorical questions we're too polite to answer (though we presume getting Allred on the phone, much less to take your case, takes more than a matter of hours), but Lorenzana's other new attorney did distinguish Peyser's column with a comment that it was "extremely unfair and inappropriate."

More important are the sartorial (and non-sartorial) opportunities for Debrahlee that now buffet our bewildered brains. Per RadarOnline: "Now it looks like she'll get the chance to wear whatever she wants in the courtroom." Not only that: Will Allred schedule a new photo shoot of sexy banker pics? And what about what Lorenzana will wear when she doesn't wear anything on the cover of some upcoming issue of whatever publication?

Because, sadly, that is what everyone wants to know.
