Djamil Azizi, Allegedly This Week's Most Inept Bank Robber
Cops are going to quite a bit of trouble hunting a bank-robbery suspect who got away with zero, zilch, nada dollars. At right is Djamil Azizi, 51, who cops say went into a Chase branch at 111 Eighth Avenue, in Chelsea, at about 10:55 a.m. on March 29 and gave a teller a note demanding money. The suspect, whether it was Azizi or someone else, fled without taking any money. Nobody was hurt, not even the bank.
Tipsters can call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477) or submit tips at nypdcrimestoppers.com or text info to 274637 (CRIMES), entering TIP577. It's probably wise to get whoever tried to rob this bank off the streets before he tries it again and perhaps hurts others or himself.
