Facebook Update Provides Alibi in Brooklyn Robbery
Addicted to the internet? There's an upside: it can save you from prison. Rodney Bradford of Farragut Houses was at his father's place in Harlem, the Times' Fort Greene blog tells us, when he updated, "Where's my pancakes," on his Facebook page. Around that time there was a robbery in Brooklyn, on suspicion of which Bradford was picked up. When Facebook confirmed that his message came from West 118th Street, making Bradford's participation in the crime logistically impossible, the cops let him go. "This is why I constantly tweet," responds janestreet, "to avoid false accusations."
