Flash Flood Warning in NYC Today; Barack Obama Says 'Gay Couples Deserve Same Legal Rights'

• Yesterday at the LGBT leadership gala at the Sheraton, President Barack Obama said, "I believe that gay couples deserve the same legal rights as every other couple in this country," while also implying that the battle for marriage equality should happen in the state Legislature -- "Traditionally, marriage has been decided by the states." People in the audience, which included hecklers, said he should have said that gay couples have the right to marry. [NY1]
