Florence Henderson Got Crabs from One-Night Stand With Former NYC Mayor John Lindsay
Florence Henderson, she of the awesome Carol Brady characterization and beauteous mullet, has admitted in her upcoming memoir, Life Is Not a Stage, that 1. She cheated on her husband in the '60s and 2. She got crabs in doing so. Further, the crabs-giver was no other than John Lindsay, former mayor of New York City. Henderson is 77 and has a memoir to sell, and Lindsay passed away in 2000, so, really, what's the harm in getting this out there now? Added bonus: Getting to write this headline; learning about the dangers of pubic lice; learning about the dangers of confusing "pubic" and "public."
Henderson felt bad about cheating, but she was lonely and did it anyway, which happens. She felt worse when she had "little black things" crawling over her bed and body following her one night stand. As one would. Lindsay, quite the gentleman, sent flowers and an apology note, reports Reuters. Fortunately, in true Brady fashion, Henderson learned from the incident.
"Guess I learned the hard way that crabs do not discriminate but cross over all socioeconomic strata," Henderson writes. "He must have had quite the active life. What a way to put the kibosh on a relationship."
Henderson also says she never had an affair with Barry Williams/Greg Brady, even though he had a big crush on her. Her book is out in September, which is too bad, because it would have been a great beach read. Crabs notwithstanding.
