Giuliani Sides Against Obama, Says Bonuses "Create Employment"
Missouri Senator Claire McCaskill is on the same page as President Obama, calling the Wall Street firms that took TARP money and then paid lavish bonuses "idiots," and proposing a bill to cap executive compensation of employees at such firms at $400,000 a year, which we're sure someone will say is going to ruin the economy...
Whoops, too late! Former Mayor Rudolph Giuliani defended the perks, saying that "If you somehow take that bonus out of the economy, it really will create unemployment" because, deprived of their perks, Wall Street employees will not go shopping or eat in restaurants, and will instead cower at home in rags and eat beans off a hot plate.
The former Mayor is expected to run for something or other in 2010, and regardless of how the stimulus or anything else goes, this kind of reverse populism is sure to preserve his recent electoral winning streak.
