Have You Seen... Livery Cab Robbers
It's been a bad summer for livery cab drivers. Three were shot dead in two weeks in August, and a crew robbed a driver on Staten Island on the 19th. Now two young Hispanic men are working the livery circuit in Manhattan and Queens. At 3 a.m. on August 22 they boarded a car at Broadway and 21st Street, punched the driver out, and took his wallet and his car. On the 24th the same men, it is believed, took a livery cab on Broadway and Steinway Street in Queens, grabbed the driver by the neck, and stole his money and car. At least one of the cabs was equipped with video, which has been recovered and from which these images are taken.
If you have information as to these men or this incident, NYPD asks you to contact 1-800-577-TIPS(8477), www.nypdcrimestoppers.com, or text 274637 (CRIMES), then enter TIP577.
