Horseplay at Shea? What Really Happened in the Escalator Death?
Yesterday, both tabloids covered the death of Antonio Narainasami, who plunged nearly four stories to his death at Shea Stadium. The Post reported yesterday, citing police sources, that Narainasami may have been sliding on the rubber railing of the stopped escalator when the accident occurred. The News' version of the event specifically mentions that "[h]e was not intoxicated or engaging in horseplay when he fell."
Today, the News reports the Queens father of 2 was "spotted fooling around" before the incident. His wife, who is pregnant with the couple's third child, told the News that she doubts her husband would have been so reckless. The Post had no follow-up in today's paper.
