Imus Announces He Has Prostate Cancer
Radio host Don Imus has announced on his show that he has stage II prostate cancer. The National Cancer Institute describes this as the stage at which "cancer is more advanced than in stage I, but has not spread outside the prostate." Imus last made national news with unfortunate remarks about the Rutgers' women's basketball team in 2007 which led to his firing, an apology, and rehiring, but is best known for decades of obstreperous radio work and some indelicate jokes he told in the presence of President Bill Clinton at the Radio/TV Correspondents Association Annual Dinner in 1996.
