It's As If Jon Kyl Never Even Opened His Mouth
Arizona Senator Jon "Cowardly Lyin'" Kyl's egregiously, ludicrously wrong not-intended-to-be-a-factual-statement about Planned Parenthood's abortion services has been stricken from the Congressional record. It's as though it never even happened! Like magic, really.
Just as a reminder, these are the words that factually came out of Jon "Fuck Research, Get Publicity" Kyl's gibbering maw:
Everybody goes to clinics, to hospitals, to doctors, and so on. Some people go to Planned Parenthood. But you don't have to go Planned Parenthood to get your cholesterol or your blood pressure checked. If you want an abortion, you go to Planned Parenthood. And that's well over 90 percent of what Planned Parenthood does.
Which, as has been pointed out quite a bit, is insanely off the mark. (The real number is three percent). Kyl's office backpedaled, claiming that the remark was "not intended to be a factual statement."
And now, intentionally un-factual or not, the statement is gone. Henceforth, it will go down in the Congressional record that Kyl thus spake: "If you want an abortion you go to Planned Parenthood and that is what Planned Parenthood does."
No. Kyl did not say that, and let's not forget that while the "new" statement is also asinine, what he really said was about 1000 times more so.
