It's The First Big Snow of the Season, New York
If you haven't looked out the window yet, this might be news: It's
kind of really snowing in New York. No reports of serious traffic accidents. City schools are open.
Not to undersell it, though. The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Weather Advisory that lasts until 5 p.m., and the city Department of Sanitation has issued a "snow alert", meaning its salt spreaders and tire chains are at the ready. Oh, and NO ALTERNATE SIDE PARKING TODAY, according to the city's Twitter. We'll see accumulation of between one to three inches, with the snowfall continuing into the afternoon.
So stay tuned. We'll be updating if anything develops.
