Jessica Fashano, 27, Jumps to Death from Roof of Trump Place
Friends and family of Jessica Fashano, 27, who worked as an analyst at Citigroup after graduating from Georgetown in 2005 -- and was actively involved in fund-raising for various charities, including the Harboring Hearts Housing Foundation and the Acumen Fund -- are trying to understand why she might have committed suicide on Saturday by jumping from the roof of Trump Place, some 16 blocks away from her own 53rd Street apartment.
Fashano, who's on surveillance video entering Trump Place by herself on Saturday morning, asked a resident how to get to the roof, took an elevator to the top, and then jumped, landing in an interior courtyard where she was found by police at 8 a.m. and pronounced dead.
Her friends talk of someone who cared deeply for others, was "always in high spirits," and had endless potential.
Via the New York Times,
"She just had everything someone could want to be successful," said Michelle Javian, a friend. "She was always the leader, had everything organized," Ms. Javian added.
"It's like something just changed overnight," said Ms. Javian, who said she spoke to Ms. Fashano daily and was supposed to have had brunch with her on Saturday morning. "Something just snapped, and we don't know."
