Joshua Flecha Arrested in Connection With Brooklyn Sexual Assaults
On Monday at 3:20 a.m, Joshua Flecha, 32, was arrested in connection with the string of sexual assaults in South Brooklyn. He was first spotted by the police at 2:30 a.m. on Greenwood Avenue, and was apprehended about 45 minutes later on 17th Street between 10th and 11th Avenues. Police saw Flecha walking slowly by a row of parked cars. Thinking was he attempting to break into a vehicle, police stopped him and told him to put his hands on a cars. At that point they found he was in possession of marijuana.
At the time of the arrest, Flecha had his pants unzipped and was watching a pornographic video on his cell phone. The police noticed his resemblance to a sketch from an incident on May 7th, and after his arrest for possession, they took him into a lineup at Brooklyn Special Victims. The May attack involved a 37-year-old woman, who was assaulted at the 8th Avenue subway entrance around 9 p.m. A man grabbed her breasts, exposed himself and began to masturbate. She identified this man as Flecha in said lineup.
We spoke with DCPI, who confirmed this information. Flecha is the second man arrested in connection with recent sexual assaults in Brooklyn, following last week's arrest of Adolfo Martinez in connection with the groping of another woman.
