Two more weeks left before one of the few small techno clubs in the city closes its door. The loss of Baktun will be felt far more deeply by those in the dance community than when Twilo shut downthat, I'm sure of. Bang the Party returns for just a week to one of its original homes as a tribute to the fervently underground space. The usual suspectsE-man, painter Jackson Brown, and Kenny Carpenterwill be on hand for the festivities. Friday @ 9, Baktun, 418 W 14th, 206-1590, www.bangtheparty.com.
If you are like me, you are tired of hearing the same DJ drones everywhere you go, playing the same generic house tunes. (And now, "electro" tunes). A very delish cure for your boredom is Sultanizatzia (which may or may not be a real word in a real foreign language), a new weekly featuring the high jinks of Eugene Hutz. Mr. Hutz is the mustachioed, crazed leader of Gogol Bordello, and he promises to play "Balkano-Jamaican Punk Dancehall"and probably break things, too. Friday @11. Luxx, 256 Grand, Williamsburg, Bklyn, 718-599-1000.
Lesbians on the left coast are already familiar with Milk, a girl theme party that heavily encourages the ladies to get dressed up. This past fall, the Milk folks started a biweekly New York version called Milk East. This week's theme: "Preppies vs. punks '80s dance party." OK, you are tired of your skinny ties and asymmetric hairdos, but you get a free drink if you show up with school spirit! Wednesday @ 10, Otto's Shrunken Head, 538 E 14th, 228-2240, www.milkeast.com.
