Long Island Serial Killer Suspects Include Two NYPD Officers
An investigation into the bodies piling up on Long Island's Jones and Gilgo Beaches, at least four of which were women who worked as Craigslist prostitutes and appear to have been killed by the same person, has led to two NYPD cops, one long-resigned and one still on the payroll. Both have been punished for hiring prostitutes, the New York Post reported over the weekend. Though any evidence tying the men to the crimes has not been made public, the Post reports that one of the officers was forced to resign for soliciting sex while on duty and the other, who now works on modified duty without a gun or badge, allegedly assaulted a woman. The investigation is ongoing and the cops "are not the sole focus." [NYP]
