Man Heroically Saves Kids Trapped in Manhole, Reports Man's PCP Hallucination
Firefighters in Gilbert, Arizona pulled a naked man from a manhole, KPHO reports. He was high on PCP, marijuana, and mushrooms, or as it is commonly referred to nowadays, "winning." He told police he thought he heard children trapped in the manhole and climbed in to rescue them. There were no children trapped in the manhole. If you are wondering why he was naked, clearly you have never taken PCP.
The man, who is in his mid-thirties, was stuck 25 feet below the street. He was treated for scrapes and bruises at a local hospital. It sounds like he had a fun day:
Gilbert police said the man left his home Tuesday morning acting strangely. Later that morning, police said they received a call about a man in a neigborhood with erratic behavior. [sic]
Officers said they were unable to locate the man until about 11 p.m. when a passer-by called 911 after hearing screams coming from the manhole, according to Capt. Mike Connor of the Gilbert Fire Department.
To his credit, that is one of the most honorable drug-induced episodes of self-endangerment we've ever heard of.
