Monserrate Goes to Senate, But Loses Glasses
The Daily News says the surveillance tape that shows Hiram Monserrate dragging girlfriend Karla Giraldo around after he cracked a glass across her face does not support his allegation that the glass-smashing was an accident. "The woman looks scared out of her mind and trying to get away from this guy," says a "law enforcement official." Monserrate is expected to be seated in the state senate today despite the charges of assault he faces and the opposition of senator Martin Golden. Meanwhile the NYPD has seized Monserrate's remaining drinking glasses for their investigation.
