Murder in East New York: Man Shot in the Head, Dumped in a Shopping Cart

Location: Schenck Avenue and Pitkin Avenue, East New York, Brooklyn.
Police in the East New York section of Brooklyn, once the city's murder capital, found a dead body inside a black plastic bag in an abandoned shopping cart. The victim was male, and he had been shot in the head.
The police are still trying to determine the victim's identity. He is African-American, in his twenties, 5' 7", 120 pounds, with short dreadlocks. He has the tattoo of a cross on his right shoulder.
