New School Rebels Claim Victory, Brutality
A New School in Exile 3 a.m. report (confirmed by the Socialist Worker and the New School Free Press) claims a "major victory" and the end of protesters' occupation of the New School building, though some of their earlier demands, including the ouster of New School President Bob Kerrey and others, are not on its posted list of concessions. (The agreement is not at this writing noted on Kerrey's blog or on the occupation Facebook page.)
The occupiers say they're getting amnesty, "the implementation of a Socially Responsible Investing (SRI) committee," more power for the student senate, student and faculty representation on the Board of Trustees, and more "student study space."
The occupiers also claim mistreatment by security forces during the siege, a video of which you can see here.
