New York State, U.S. Governments Honor Trent Reznor for Helping Sick, Uninsured Man
While the state senate isn't getting much done, at least some state officials doing their jobs, including writing letters of commendation to Trent Reznor. The Nine Inch Nails auteur has been very active in the fight to get relief for 27-year-old severe cardiomyopathy sufferer Eric De La Cruz of Nevada, who can't get health insurance that make a heart transplant affordable. Charles Schumer and David Patterson wrote a letter thanking Reznor for his efforts; state senator Craig M. Johnson, comptroller Thomas DiNapoli, and congressmen Tim Bishop and Gary Ackerman have signed similar letters. Reznor's efforts have helped raise hundreds of thousands of dollars for De La Cruz' care. Here's a video of an apparently non-plussed Reznor receiving his U.S. and New York State commendations from fan Mike Caplice. Twitpics of the documents are here.
