Nude Pregnant PETA Protest Fries Bacon Advocate
It's a little early for Mother's Day celebrations, but PETA UK nonetheless wished an Unhappy one on British chef Jamie Oliver for his promotion of British pork on a TV show, "Jamie Saves Our Bacon," and had two of their pregnant operatives get naked on all fours in metal pens in front of his London restaurant Fifteen in protest. Their action was meant to suggest crated sows, though the Telegraph says that such crating is illegal in Britain until a sow is about to give birth, which is portrayed as a protective measure. PETA counters that the mother pig in such circumstances can't nuzzle her offspring, causing "extreme" distress. Oliver was okay with the protest; "My main concern was that they would get cold."
