Oh No They Di'n't: "Barack Osama" on Upstate Absentee Ballots
Whoops: on absentee ballots printed up for bucolic Rensselaer County, NY, Barack Obama's name is rendered "Barack Osama." About 300 voters have received these ballots, but they probably think that's his name anyway: the county is very Republican, with GOP County Executives going back for decades, and a Country Legislature with 12 Reps, 6 Dems, and a Majority Leader, Robert Mirch of Troy, who identifies himself as a member of the Conservative Party. Election officials of both parties called it an innocent error, but a local voter quoted by the Albany Times-Union, and everyone else who reads this story, has doubts.
