Ousted Albany Underling Sues State, Claims His Boss Had Affair with Paterson
Last month Indira Noel, an Albany Democratic aide, pleaded out on a charge of forging the signature of one of her subordinates in order to obtain his college records, and got off with a fine. The subordinate, Jean Pierre, got fired -- Noel's illegal search discovered that Pierre didn't really have a master's degree, as he had claimed in pursuing his job. Naturally Pierre is suing.
This week he added a welcome, lurid dimension to the case, claiming that Noel had bragged she could not be fired from her job because she was having a "relationship" with Governor Paterson, and he doesn't mean the administrative kind. "I'm David girlfriend," Pierre says she told him.
Both Paterson and Noel deny any such relationship, and Noel's lawyer calls Pierre a "lying weasel." Noel makes $118,000 a year, having recently received an $11,000 raise. Pierre has since leaving government worked as an assistant manager at Wal-Mart, from which position he was dismissed for violating the store's fraternization policies, reports the Times.
