Pete King "Looking at" Run Against Gillibrand
We heard today about Steve Levy, the conservative Democrat who's considering a challenge to Governor Paterson. Now here's something a little more expected, though barely: Conservative Republican Pete King, who told Don Imus this morning that he's "looking at" a run against Senator Kirsten Gillibrand.
King had considered a run at Gillibrand this summer, then backed out. This was around that time people started talking about Rudolph Giuliani as a possible GOP nominee for the Senate; maybe Giuliani's recent retreat from the race re-ignited King's interest.
King would be an entertaining nominee; he's probably best known at this point for denouncing coverage of "pervert" Michael Jackson's funeral week. Whether he could be successful is another story. Only one way to find out!
