Police Release Surveillance Video of Would-Be East Village Kidnapper

Following up on the story we mentioned earlier of an attempted kidnapping in the East Village...police have released surveillance video and a photo of the man who picked up a four-year-old boy at 6th Street between A and B yesterday and attempted to walk away. The boy's nanny screamed and grabbed the child back, and the suspect fled. (The boy was not injured.)

The suspect, pictured, is a black male aged 45 to 55 with a slim build. He's 5'6" to 5'8" and was wearing a brown hooded sweatshirt with writing on the front and faded black jeans. Here's video.

Anyone with information is asked to call the NYPD's Crime Stoppers Hotline at 800-577-TIPS.
