Police Seeking Suspect in Another Attack in Riverside Park
The NYPD is asking for the public's help identifying a suspect (pictured in the police sketch) wanted in connection with an assault that took place in Riverside Park on July 5, the same day as the attack on a Riverside Park jogger. (It's now thought that this person committed that assault as well, and that the person depicted in the previous sketch was a witness.)
The victim, 48, was walking her dog at 6:20 a.m. near West 98th Street and Riverside Drive when she was approached from behind by the suspect, who repeatedly struck her in the head and threw her to the ground. He kicked her in the chest and stomach before fleeing. He is described as black male in his 20s, 5'8", with a thin build and black hair, last seen wearing blue shorts with blue-and-white boxers. If you have any information, please call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477).
