Poll Vault Buzz at Weinuh Rally
Anthony Weiner rallied the troops in Forest Hills on Saturday, slipping into a subtly more pronounced outer borough accent (the firefighters union that endorsed him became fie-uh-fighters), and the Marist Poll was on everyone's mind. Campaign staffers are excited, if a little reluctant to believe one poll over the other. Weiner metioned the new numbers twice from the stage, to loud cheersthe crowd apparently had seen the Post front page reporting Weiner's statistical tie with Freddy (the first time in a long time, if ever, it seemed, that the primary race had earned a tabloid cover). But while Weiner's workers did their best to compensate, by telling people to hold two signs if they were willing and scrunch together for "a better visual," the crowd was not very large. If turnout's an issue for Weiner on Saturday, will it also be on Primary Day?
