Project Runway Can't Fool Us
Oh, the magic of television! On Project Runway, the contestants have spent the entire season obsessing over who will make it to the final three and get to show their collections at Olympus Fashion Week in New York. But you may have noticed that actually four of the designers presented their work last weekDaniel Vosovic, Chloe Dao, Santino Rice, and Kara Janx.
Is this just to avoid letting the secret of who was eliminated out? In that case, it seems like it would be easier to start the show one week earlier. But never mind why, we were fascinated to see that Kara, who was clearly going to be "awt" this week, and who never won a single challenge, had the prettiest and most interesting clothes at Bryant Park.
Jackie Atkins, who co-owns the boutique Plum on the Lower East Side, is hip to the secret of Kara's talent. She started carrying a wrap dress by Janx before she even knew she was going to be on the show, and has sold it out three times. In fact, it's the very dress the designer was wearing when Heidi sent her home.
Atkins indulged us with some thoughts on how the finale will go down:
"I think Daniel V. is most likely going to win but Chloe has been extremely consistent and I think she is his biggest competition. I think Santino is talented but I also think that he should have been out when his jumpsuit literally fell apart on the runway. He is basically just good TV, but not good enough to win."
