This morning in Times Square, about a hundred protesters -- some in orange jumpsuits and black hoods resembling the ones worn by detainees at the Guantanamo Bay detention camp -- reignited their campaign to have President Obama close the camp.

Organized by Witness Against Torture, the protest was one of several around the country, marking the one-year anniversary of Obama's May 23rd, 2013 remarks at the National Defense University (Audio below):

"Today, I once again call on Congress to lift the restrictions on detainee transfers from Gitmo. I have asked the Department of Defense to designate a site in the United States where we can hold military commissions."

Protestors handed out flyers and chanted information via Occupy's mic check to puzzled, but curious tourists walking through Times Square.

The reactions of passersby ranged from support to annoyance -- one well-dressed man yelled, "build more Guantanamos!"

After their allotted protest time, they marched two by two through the square up to the red steps of the TKTS pavilion.

Times Square security briefly attempted to stop them, claiming 'there is no commercial activity' on the pavilion but protestors continued on posing for tourist photos.

Here are photos from the protest:
