Queens motorcyclist narrowly misses Darwin Award
Rocky Sanchez, 35, whose 17 previous license suspensions most likely contributed to his reluctance to talk to the police about his current one, ran across two lanes of traffic and jumped off the Throg's Neck Bridge after a traffic stop.
MTA Bridges and Tunnels Officer Charles Luce, who blocked the bike from escaping, jumped in and fished the jumper, who dropped 30 feet, out of the water. Sanchez was taken to Jacobi Hospital to be treated for hypothermia. He's charged with driving with a suspended license, obstruction and resisting arrest.
