The crash is being investigated by the city's Department of Buildings, whose inspector general is conveniently located at 83 Maiden Lane.
Buildings reported emptied by the police as a safety precaution, which vary from source to source, include 80, 83, 90, and 100 Maiden Lane, and 1 and 2 Gold Street. There were no reported injuries.
