SI Youth Beaten After Ohio Called for Obama
The cop-clash in Williamsburg was supposed to be the only Obama-related local violence of the election, but here we have the Staten Island Advance reporting that 17-year-old Ali Kamara, son of Liberian immigrants, was beaten in Stapleton Tuesday night by four white guys in hoodies yelling "Obama!" The perps piled out of a car, hitting Kamara with baseball bats and kicking him. The young man tells Daily News that his assailants were "not happy." The assault occurred at 10 p.m., an hour before California had been called, putting Obama over the top, but about an hour after his Ohio victory put Obama within striking distance. The NYPD Hate Crime Task Force is investigating.
