Somebody Got Murdered: Bronx Man Fatally Stabbed (Update 2)

DATE: Monday, Sept. 21, 2009 at approximately 3:32 a.m.
LOCATION: 13 Buchanan Place, The Bronx.
The police have made an arrest in the fatal stabbing early Monday of a Bronx man. Carlos Benitez, 53, of the above address was found stabbed numerous times in the head, neck and torso, the police say. He was declared dead at the scene.
The police arrested Tanya Garcia, also of 13 Buchanan Place, on murder and weapons charges. Garcia and Benitez had a history of prior domestic incidents. Garcia told detectives that she was defending herself after Benitez tried to strike her with a guitar, a law enforcement source says. She has yet to be arraigned on the charges.
