LOCATION: 401 East 140 Street, The Bronx
The police say 21-year-old Darrel Ledgister of Laconia Avenue in the Bronx was found shot to death inside a 2008 Dodge Charger. He was declared dead at Lincoln Hospital. No arrests so far.
The Daily News says Ledgister hoped to become a school safety officer. His mom told the News that he had called her on his way to pick up his girlfriend. But he and his friends got into a fight and the shooting began.
At Lincoln, doctors tried to save his life. But it wasn't to be. "By the time we got there, he had already passed away," Monica Cleveland said of her only son. "They resuscitated him in the ambulance, but couldn't save him."
