DATE: On Monday, August 31, 2009 at about 8:30 p.m.
LOCATION: Inside of Sunset Park near 41 Street and 7 Avenue
The police say two men were shot and killed inside Sunset Park in Brooklyn Monday evening. We should note that a double murder inside a city park is pretty unusual.
A 28-year-old man had been shot in the face, and a 22-year-old man had mortal wounds to the neck and chest. Both men were declared dead at the scene. The police have yet to release the identities of the victims.
The New York Daily News quoted police source saying the incident may have been "gang-related." The shooter, a witness said, fired three times and fled.
