Somebody Got Murdered: Fatal Stabbing Outside Midtown Post Office

DATE: Sunday, Sept. 27, 2009, 5:45 p.m.
LOCATION: 8th Avenue and West 33 Street, Manhattan.
The police say a 20-year-old man was fatally stabbed not far from Madison Square Garden Sunday evening. Christopher Gutierrez of Avenue D in Manhattan was found with two stab wounds. He was taken to Bellevue Hospital where he was declared dead.
The assault took place outside the Farley post office building. Gutierrez,who worked in a stock room, had apparently argued with his killer moments before the fatal assault. The Daily News reports that Gutierrez may have accidentally bumped into the man, setting off the deadly encounter.
The police are looking for an black male, 25 to 35, 5-foot-10, 160 pounds, with short black hair. He was wearing a black T-shirt and blue jeans, and was carrying a camouflage military style backpack with the letters US printed on the back.
