Somebody Got Murdered, Hopefully the Last One This Year: Jose Lazala
More details have come in on that shooting in Harlem on the 26th: Jose Lazala, 30, of West 192nd Street, was an attendant working the VFC Parking Garage at 161 West 132 Street, where Tuesday night someone pulled a gun on him and walked him into the garage's office, presumably to rob the safe, which, it is believed, Lazala couldn't open, whereupon the disappointed gunman shot him twice in the head. His body was discovered shortly after midnight.
Lazala's work colleague Martin Wood told La Prensa that the deceased had been studying building management and was planning to leave the garage.
The suspect is pictured at left: black, about 6'0", wearing a dark colored 3/4 length coat with a purple/blue sweat suit and white sneakers.
NYPD asks anyone with information to call 1-800-577-TIPS (8477), or visit www.nypdcrimestoppers.com, or text to 274637 (CRIMES), then enter TIP577.
