Somebody Got Murdered: State Correction Officer Killed Outside Brooklyn Barber Shop

A state correction officer was shot and killed early Sunday outside a barber shop he frequented at 658 Nostrand Ave, the police are saying. Just after midnight on Sunday, the police arrived on a 911 call to the front of 658 Nostrand Ave. and found 30-year-old Jeremie Kane of Empire Boulevard in Brooklyn shot repeatedly. He was declared dead at Kings County Hospital.
Kane, according to the New York Times, was on medical leave from work at Sing-Sing, a state prison. He was making a call on his cellphone outside the shop when he got into an argument with another man and was shot.
