State to Blow $4 Million on Bridge Signs
We deeply respect the memory of the late Robert F. Kennedy. On the other hand, in the words of Queens Crap, "You've got to be fucking kidding me": the state plans to spend $4 million dollars to replace Triborough Bridge road signs with Robert F. Kennedy Bridge signs, reports the New York Times. Aware of the current financial crisis, officials have agreed to delay bidding on the sign-making job till 2011, by which time, it is hoped, President Obama will have instituted a new WPA, which will hire hobos to erect signs made in metal shops at state prisons. Failing that, the Times actually reports, the state may economize by making the signs shorter and abbreviating the legend to "RFK Bridge."
