Staten Island Cop Posers Tape Released
Two guys, wearing "jackets and ballcaps" and casing a house on Merrymount Street in Staten Island, apparently had a brainstorm: When the babysitter came to the door, one of them said they were cops, and in the confusion entered the home, tied up the babysitter, and took things from the house. This was in July, but the surveillance tape of the incident has only just been released, so Staten Island Advance is alerting citizens, "Beware: predators posing as cops on Staten Island." No word on other such impersonations in the borough since, but two men did perform another home invasion on Cotter Avenue, about two and half miles away, the following week.
