Steve Halfon, Coin Dealer, Murdered In Brooklyn
On Tuesday, a 61-year-old Brooklyn coin dealer was found unconscious and beaten on the street in Midwood. He was rushed to New York Community Hospital with severe head trauma and pronounced dead on arrival. The deceased has been identified as Steve Halfon, the owner of a coin shop in Gravesend. Yesterday, the Medical Examiner's office classified the death as a homicide.
According to this Daily News report, Halfon was ambushed by three men while leaving his shop at 5:30 pm. They forced him into their car, beat him severely, and drove off, dumping him a mile away on East Seventh Street near Avenue N in Midwood. "One guy gets out, covered in blood, and walks down the street like nothing happened," a source told the News.
